Taken by a Dragon (Eternal Mates, Book 7) by Felicity Heaton

Life has been so hectic recently that finding time to read has become a distant desire, something I desperately crave but know it's just not within reach.  I was so pleased that this book was the top of the reading pile because I love Felicity's books, they are the ones I turn to for maximum 'switch off from the world' factor, when you still want a book that keeps you reading because of its rich story building, wonderful characters and fabulous writing whilst also keeping it light, entertaining and exciting and it always gets your pulse racing.

Craving something that you know is not within reach brings me to Loke, mmm Loke, its sexy to even say isn't it? The man that is attached to the name is sexy as hell to imagine too, despite the bright blue hair! This gorgeous dragon shifter has spent six centuries alone, along comes his fated female, his eternal mate, but she is mortal! The deeper he falls for her the harder his dragon instincts push him to claim her, but when he realises who the mystery figure is in a vision he has seen of his Little Amazon's future, he realises that he must distance himself from the love of his life to save her life, to forever be a distant desire.

Anais, the object of his affections, works for Archangel (and I must just say, the more we hear about Archangel, the less I like about them!) and quickly realises that she has feelings for Loke, despite the fact that they were on opposing sides when he took her from a battlefield in order to prevent the death that his vision told him was in her future .  She battles internally between her desire for this dragon and her duty to Archangel.  Although there is a clear winner if you ask me.

I love that the character stories are inter-woven so well, and I am loving the plot arc that runs through the series.  We get to see some of the old faces from the other books in this one, I do like a meddling and mischievous Prince Loren, I love Sable and the brief glimpse of the wonderful Bleu was welcomed.  I am certainly intrigued by the story line unfolding with Taryn and believe we may see considerably more of Bleu when we learn more about her, I could be wrong but that's my hunch!

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC for an honest review.

Book Description:

Possessed by a need to save a beautiful Amazon warrior from the vision he witnessed, Loke snatched her from the midst of the battle between the Third and Fifth realm of the demons, and carried her to his home deep in the black mountains of Hell to protect her. But as the fierce little female awakens, he finds she’s anything but grateful, and his dragon instincts roar to life to warn she might be more to him than an enemy—she might be his fated female.

Anais remembers meeting a handsome warrior in the heat of battle, a man who was her enemy but who looked at her with eyes that held dark heat and wicked promises. When she wakes to find that same dragon shifter has taken her captive, desire is the last thing on her mind, but escaping him to return to Archangel, the hunter organisation she works for, sounds less than appealing when he reveals the reason he took her—to stop her from dying.
Can Loke protect Anais from the dangers of his realm and how far will he go to save her from the future he keeps witnessing? Can Anais resist the fierce attraction that burns between them as hot as fire and stay true to Archangel or will her heart be taken by the dragon?
